1951 Top of the Form

Postby Margaret » Thu Apr 23, 2009 8:11 am

Does anyone know what became of our winning team since that great day in 1951? Ewan Wilson, Atholl Hill, Derek McLeod and Derek Ruxton. A friend was most impressed by these lads (and our school) when she listened to the CD, which set me wondering.

Yes Margaret, I wonder what they are all doing now. I can remember the excitement and I was only 6 years old. My brother Rob had just started First Year at Morgan and I was proud of our connection with Morgan.

HI Dave,
One of my elderly neighbours who graduated in many Academic subjects only a few years ago wanted to listen to the Top of the Form CDs and was most impressed by our team and it was she who made me think about finding out what they had all been up to after they left school. I too have many happy memories of that time, but was some years older than you at 14!

I didn't know there was a CD of the 1951 Top of the Form! Can I buy one, and if so where? I was only in P7 that year (not Morgan Primary) but friends who were at the "big school" were very excited about it - as was most of Dundee in these pre-TV days, I expect.

Hello Kate. You can get the CD's from David McDougall if I remember rightly. If you click on his entry on the Members' list you'll get the info for contacting him, or maybe someone else might tell you the quicker way which I stupidly have forgotten. There are two CDs and they give such pleasure if you shut yourself in and simply listen to them. Good Luck.:)

Kate

I felt my ears burning so logged on to the Forum !! If you e-mail me your snail-mail address I can forward a copy of the "Top of the Form" CD. Cost is £5:00+£1:50 p&p. Make your cheque payable to the FP Association but send it to me that way your name "is kept out of the window" !! My e-mail address is on the website or in the Forum Members list and when you e-mail me with your snail-mail address I shall reciprocate.

Would you believe I have been asked if the CD was in colour or black and white
