Cheesie Tapes

Postby Nicki » Fri Jan 02, 2009 3:08 pm

This has probably been asked before - if so, apologies. Does anyone know why this Morgan merchandise video/DVD is called "The Cheesie Tapes" (apart from the obvious answer that they're a bit cheesie...)?

D.B.Stewart, who made the original films, was of portly disposition and nicknamed 'Cheesie'.

Nicki, grab yourself a copy of MORGAN MEMORIES and all will be revealed, thanks to a first class introduction by our very own George Stout.

Ian

Send me your snail-mail address and I will forward one to you. Sorry I can't advise the postage element of P+P but you will find out from the stamps on arrival. Do you want the DVD or VHS? Happy to forward in advance of payment, but don't tell everyone !!

So you live on the "wrong" side of the Whangpo river, Ian. I was never allowed to cross the river, always out of bounds.

You wouldn't recognise it now Laird. It's a city in itself and most of the ex-pat community live there with new apartment blocks nearly all the way out to Pudong airport. And of course we have the Oriental poearl toer and the new Shanghai Financial Centre(the bottle opener) which is the highest building in China

Ian

DVD in post Saturday morning. Please keep me posted regarding its arrival. The earlier I can start the process for packages that go astray the better. Have had more than a few problems with articles not arriving of late. Having said that an FP tie, last in my stock, was posted down south at the same time as your DVD and I had word of its arrival by 9:30 this morning, that's less than one working day - unheard of.

Laird, please tell us more about your time in the Far East -- you must have had some interesting years there -- and experiences! Do it under the "What have I been up to since leaving the Morgan" so that we don't get whooshed. And Ian -- you only got to the second episode and promised us the next one about being a houseman (is that the word for apprentice resident doctor in a UK hospital?)
As Ronald George Smith, I attended the Morgan Academy from 1947 to 1960. My sister Vivian (two years my senior) and brother Euan (two years my junior) also attended the Morgan.
