Gwen, wife of David, our Chairman, died on 16 June, after a very long period of illness, bravely borne to the end.
David has asked me to put this announcement on the forum. The email he sent telling us of her death is too emotional to post, but I have extracted the following.

"Thank you all for your encouragement, help, support, prayers and kindness especially over that last 50 weeks. May God be with you as He surely was with Gwen."

David please accept my sincere condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

On 16 June, after a long illness borne with her special brand of courage, fortitude, faith and good humour, Gwen, loved and loving wife of David, devoted daughter of the late George and Helen McLaggan, wonderful mother to Ewan and the late Ruth, welcoming mother-in-law to Elaine, dear sister-in-law to Robert, Sheila and Bob and friend to many.
A celebration of Gwen’s life will be held in St Andrew’s Parish Church, Cowgate, Dundee at 12:00 on Thursday 23 June 2011. By Gwen’s own request, please dress joyfully, no black ties, no flowers. Donations in lieu of flowers to charities close to Gwen’s heart may be made at the Church.

I was so sorry to hear of Gwen's death. She was in my year at Morgan and I remember her well. My thoughts are with David and the family.
