To pick up CBY's pertinent comment on
Let's have a little more world peace and harmony in 2012.

The five danger points predicted by a US Democratic politician for the year 2012 are:
1. The European Union (Does it have the capability to bring stability without collateral damage?)
2. Iran (Will it try and achieve nuclear capability? Israel's reaction (+ nuclear capability that is not appropriately criticised)?
3. Pakistan (Deep instability + nuclear capability how will that play out?)
4. North Korea (Internal instability + nuclear capability threatening to erupt across borders)
5. Public health (Next avian flu epidemic?)
My brother, who is a public health expert with vast international experience has been warning me for some years of #5 - saying that it's just a matter of time...
As Ronald George Smith, I attended the Morgan Academy from 1947 to 1960. My sister Vivian (two years my senior) and brother Euan (two years my junior) also attended the Morgan.

Nothing like a bit of doom and gloom to set the year off Ron&cby!! I am afraid I look on each new year with optimism and hope that the world will survive all the disasters as it has always done thanks to the goodwill and humanity of the human race
Attended Morgan 1954-60. Airlie.

Doing fine, Dave. He's heading up a large EU-funded multi-million Euro, public health improvement project in India just now. He was on holiday in Scotland over New Year with his wife.
