How often do you look at the Home Page, before going to the Forum?
We want FPs to join us, so how do we do it?
What do you think would attract FPs to the site?

Trying to be constructive, I feel that keeping the home page up to date, as has happened recently, should hopefully, stimulate interest.

Ever since that fatefull day, my computer takes me direct to the Forum and so I very rarely visit the Home Page. It may help to ask ex-contributors, Bruce Mackie for example, to ask why they stopped using the site. With over 700(?) members it is strange that only a handfull of us regularly post. A small quirkie advert in the newsletter may bring more interest and if there is an easy way of sending members an email about the site..................... Don`t want to give you a lot extra work, Thelma, you already have enough on your plate. Hope this helps a little.

Laird, you must have set up you computer to the index page by choosing that page by selecting 'favourites'. Why not select 'morganacademyfp.co.uk' as a 'favourites' and you will get the 'home page' every time.

We all probably know at least three or four FP's who know about the site and the forum but still do not post. Perhaps we can start hounding them to make a New Year's resolution to post on the forum at least once a month in 2010. Plan B could be to start planning an all years Morgan FP reunion and ask all FP's to state their preference as to which year it should be. 2010 , 2011 , 2012 to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the "Old Girl" being designed (see History section) or 2013 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the famous photograph of Jack Page, Gordon Stewart [School Captain '62/'63] and Dave Dempster (see http://207.234.135.244/morganfp/default ... &pagenum=4 ) this would also coincide with the 600th anniversary of the founding of St Andrews University which might be another drawing card for a number of Morgan FP's. Well, what do you think?

I'd like to buy some Christmas cards. Anyone got a contact please? I've not been able to get to meetings recently owing to health problems.

Ref to the venue for the Half Yearly Meeting. Is it in the hall or the chapel?
We don't want Laird going to the wrong place after struggling through the snow from Fife.

Half Yearly Meeting

Postby David » Thu Dec 10, 2009 5:23 pm

Half Yearly Meeting is in the Chapel, or as it is now known, the Drama Studio. It starts at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 15 December with the promise of seasonal refreshments ie Coffee and mince pies.

The rector, albeit at quite short notice, has invited us to the school / community carol service in Stobswell Church at 7.30 pm on Monday 14 December.

Desperately Seeking Subscribers

Postby Jester » Sun Dec 27, 2009 4:52 pm

Half-Yearly Meeting was on my agenda, but I had to call off due to a return bout of the flu and a persistent cough.
Regarding the idea of attracting more bods to the Forum, earlier this year I put notes to this effect on tables at the Old Boys' Lunch, but to no avail. I don't think any of them know how to work a computer -- or perhaps they ate the note, thinking it was part of their lunch!
