Miss Kathleen Lee Blackwood

Postby Jester » Thu Jun 16, 2011 11:56 am

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing, this morning, of my oldest friend Kathleen Blackwood.
Kathleen helped steer me through Lower then Higher Music in the early 1950s and we have remained very good friends ever since.
I will post a proper tribute here in due course.

As another one of her former pupils, and a voice on several of her puppet show soundtracks, it grieves me greatly to hear of Kathleen's passing.
Any news of when her funeral will take place?

Yesterday afternoon, I phoned Miss Darroch with the sad news. She told me that, on her arrival in Dundee following the bombing of her Greenock home, it was Kathleen who welcomed and befriended her; they have remained friends ever since.
I will post funeral arrangements when they are known.
