Well done Thelma and all concerned. Now wouldn't it be great if we could increase the number of FPs participating!

Does anybody have any ideas about how we might encourage more participation from more FPs? I decided to write to two with whom I am in contact: Jean Strachan who was two years my senior and in my sister's class. And Graeme Kidd who was in my year and later, we shared a flat when we were students at Aberdeen University when he was a third-year student of Agriculture and I was a first-year student in general arts. The silence of their response has been deafening! I wonder why? It would be really good to have even more active fora with even more FPs.

I suppose some people just have an aversion to computers and online chat Ron. Remember most of our classmates are in theire late 60s. I have also tried eith AileenLamond,Ian McGregor, Cammy Donaldson,Isobel Cooke and Clara Scott. As long as those who are enthousiastic keep posting others might be encouraged.

Good point, Ian. I have had to use Internet for my program evaluation work and so have become very familiar with this kind of communication. Typically an evaluation team might have half a dozen members from half a dozen countries and meet only once or twice (in e.g. Panama City, Manilla, Singapore, Cairo, Washington, Rome, or some other convenient point) during the entire project that could take six months or a year. Virtually all of the communication would be by Internet and we would exchange data files as well as drafts of the evaluation results and expect sound feedback within days or even hours. We will keep at it and keep encouraging others ....
