New Domain Name

Postby morganfp » Wed Jul 01, 2009 8:48 pm

As you know we have lost www.morganacademyfp.co.uk. (Reason is too complicated to explain online.) It's up for sale - 299 Euros which is a LAUGH! (If any of you has that kind of cash and is willing to help us buy it, let me know!)
What domain name should we go for?
Put Nominet into google and then look for possible morganacademy domains. I quite like morganacademyfpa.co.uk - not too far off the original one and it reflects MAFPA.
Over to you.

Sounds okay to me. Jest go ahead, I say. Of course, this is me being lazy. Too near bedtime AND too hot to dream up something zany. Anyway, I can't figure out how one's domain name can be pinched and put up for auction by someone else. But then, I'm not only lazy... I'm Thick Grade A.

Jester, the domain name is "leased" for a fixed term and if , at the end of the fixed term the lease hasn't been renewed, it goes on to the open market. Somehow or another we missed out on renewing it and so it has been acquired by someone else. Why ? Your guess is a good as mine.

Thanks, Thelma. Even at the age of a hundred-and-four I learn something new every day. Apologies for replying to your original message. I didn't see your 'not on the forum' request under General Chat in time.

Well done, morganfp, and good luck with the negotiation. E299 is probably the asking price but whoever holds it may realise that there is a limited market for this domain name and take whatever is offered. Would be a good idea to make the renewal in time so that it cannot be sold on, next time it expires.

www.morganacademyfp.co.uk has now been bought and paid for. I've no idea how long it will take to be restored online, so patience is required.

Well done, Thelma. Hope you didn't have to take out a mortgage to pay for it!

After 4 hours today on the internet setting up sedo/nominet/fasthosts accounts I'm sick fed up of www.morganacademyfp.co.uk. Keep your fingers crossed that I've followed the guru, Eoin Mackintosh's instructions! There's the little matter of transferring all the pages onto the resurrected site, so it may be a wee while before I can update the site. Bear with us, please. (eoin and thelma that is!)

Sandra, haven't had to take out a mortgage, but may have to, to return the hair to a suitable colour.

Well done Thelma. The hair can be any colour you like - Brown would be nice, it would go with your name
