S1 intake 1948/49

Postby morganfp » Sun Nov 21, 2010 10:33 pm

Richard Young, MAFPA archivist has driven me MAD over the past few years with his obssession for Morgan Academy class and sports photographs. He won't let me have them for the photo gallery. However, his friend Hugh Mcgrory has published some on the internet.

Bill Dow would like to know where the 1953 science lab photograph was taken. (It's the last pic on the page.)
I hope the link works! I will try it out as soon as I've submitted this, so . . .

YEEEES, the link does work. There are lots of pics which, with the permission of Richard and Hugh, I will download to the photo gallery.

You`re not alone there, Thelma, Richard drives me mad as well at the Invergowrie luncheons, but in a pleasant way, I must add.

Richard is a lovely gentleman, but he's Very protective of his photographs! He has a lovely rehomed Guide Dog, Pearl, so I have to forgive him!
Have a look at the science lab photo.
Bill Dow thinks it's a chemistry lab, but his wife says it can't be. One of the girls photographed did Biology!
My husband, not a FP, thinks it's a Chemistry lab!
Could it be the science lab which had to be entered before reaching Ma Mather's biology lab c 1962? (Her lab overlooked the Hall.) If it's the lab I remember, it's the one where I received a resounding 8% for a 2nd year exam. (Mr /Dr Brown was the teacher, I think.)

Thanks for the 'lovely gentleman' bit. As you will see I have successfully entered the 'Forum'
If Gordon would like to make contact, I have all his class photos but lack a few names. Just someone else to annoy. Wait till you next attend the lunches 'Laird' !!!!
As Admin. says I have 350+ class and team photos of those who started primary between 1941 and 1949.

Welcome back to the forum, Richard. Any help you can give with names for photographs will be most welcome.
I will try to download Hugh McGrory's photos, once I've worked out how to do it!
