An unusually strong storm knocked out the electricity supply in parts of Ontario last Thursday -- we were without power for about 48 hours. My wife is a tutor for the Open University and has to bne on-line at certain times. We were able to get the Honda generator going and fire up the power to the modem and the router this saving the day. Fortunately, when we built the house, we had the electrician put in a second electric box to allow us to hook up to the gasoline generator. We are both glad not to be at the mercy of the provincial electricity service provider. Our house became the welcome tea and coffee-making centre of our cottagers' association for a couple of days!

Hamish, I guess that in the year since I made that post, Hydro One has learned something about power distribution. Let's hope so!

Something very strange going on just now. I cannot remember anytime that there has been a series of days when there have been no posts whatsoever. Have we all got nothing to say about nothing.

It must be the weather Pud. When the weather is nice - sunshine, warm breezes etc. People talk to other people in the street, in car parks, in the supermarkets .. everywhere. So, everyone is outdoors, bowling, walking, driving, smiling....... so maybe we should all get iPads so we can post as we walk around smiling and chattering like the birds.
