An English lesson on the tele, as my son is an English teacher and such programmes give ideas about what to put into his lessons. Tonight`s lesson is on animals from hipo to wild boar and goat.

Nothing right now, but in half an hours time, an American film titled "Sahara" which I have never heard of and with actors/actresses whom I have never heard of. Reckon it will be great entertainment. :D

Watched some clips of Lee Evans on U-tube last night. I saw him first many years ago when he appeared at the Montreal Comedy Festival. He was hilarious .. still is and now he has become the english BILLY CONNOLLY.

Sory Dave, his style reminds me too much of Norman Wisdom, and besides Connolly is a verbal comedian, and Evans is basically a more visual style

You are right Dave. What struck me was his constant use of the "F" word which he didn't use earlier.

Confession time, girls - how many of you will be watching "Ballet Shoes" on Boxing Day? It was one of my favourite books, although I never had ballet lessons and had no interest in being a ballerina (too big anyway!)

Went to see "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" - Helen Mirren, Jon Voight, Ed Harris and Nicholas Cage. A fun movie.

Seems as if Kate is away on holiday as she has not posted for a little time. Awaiting her return to learn if she watched this iconic movie "Ballet Shoes."

No Laird, I haven't been away, but as nobody replied re Ballet Shoes (a TV adaptation of the book, not a movie) I assume that I'm the only person who hasn't yet put away childish things! Anyway I enjoyed it, although they took a few liberties with the original story.

Did not get round to watching them, Ian, as I had to change plans unexpectedly and come back to Japan. My wife only managed one week in the UK before returning. First Christmas that the family has been split in two and I did not like it.

Congratulations on your first posts Ian.
The only problem I have had with the DVDs is that there doesn't seem to be an option to get rid of the subtitles on the Bourne Ultimatum - at least I don't think there is cos the options all appear in Cyrillic characters!
The sub titles are hilarious by the way, they rarely match up with what is being said on screen at the time. I had never seen the first film right from the start. A great set of movies, which I will watch again and again.
Many thanks once more.
